WHAT’S THE ROLE?
We’re seeking a visionary Experience Design Director / Head of Studio to lead and shape the future of design for this global powerhouse. You should be an accomplished design leader with a background rooted in agency life—understanding the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of end-to-end projects. This role is perfect for someone who has not only scaled design operations from the ground up but also enjoys being hands-on when needed.
As a senior leader (VP-level or higher), you will lead by example, drive innovation, and inspire a world-class design team. While you’ll be involved in high-level strategy and decision-making, you’ll also occasionally roll up your sleeves, dive into design tools, and facilitate workshops. You will collaborate with an exceptional global design leadership team, renowned for their excellence.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT?
Leadership & Vision: Set and maintain world-class design standards across the organization, leading with a clear vision for the future of design within a net-zero framework.
Team Building & Talent Development: Recruit, nurture, and inspire a diverse design team. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and growth.
Strategic Oversight: Oversee and guide multiple design teams across various disciplines, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maintaining the highest quality of work.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the design board and executive team, to ensure design initiatives align with the broader organizational goals.
Operational Excellence: Manage the operational aspects of the design function, ensuring efficient processes, resource allocation, and timely delivery of projects.
Thought Leadership: Be a prominent voice in India’s design community. Lead by example, sharing your expertise through speaking engagements, publications, and mentorship.
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
Proven Leadership: Extensive experience leading design teams and setting strategic design direction at a global level.
Hands-On Expertise: While this is a leadership role, you’re still passionate about design and occasionally enjoy getting hands-on with the work.
Portfolio of Excellence: A compelling portfolio that demonstrates your design thinking, leadership abilities, and hands-on expertise is essential for this role.
Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Innovative Mindset: A forward-thinking approach to design, with a deep understanding of emerging technologies and how they can be applied in the context of sustainability and net-zero initiatives.
