Experiential Designer
For our client who is a leader in exhibition design we're looking for a;
Experiential Designer bridges between, and executing on the strategy and concept intent through design. They can get help and oversight from the Design Director and Principal Designer but they should be able to act autonomously, directly with clients, vendors, designers, technologists and producers on their team.
They should have interest and willingness to participate in company strategies
around processes, types of work we do, studio aesthetic and these other, higher level, initiatives.
Key responsibilities
+ Understand and lead the design process required for any given project - bridge the gap
between producers and design team to ensure alignment on scope, method, and deliverables,
including ensuring appropriate and professional communication with clients at all times.
+ Design and deliver Interactive products, installations and exhibitions for global brands and
cultural institution
+ Create best-in-class experience design deliverables to articulate user insights and craft a
broad range of design deliverables including maps/frameworks, user journeys, service
blueprints, touchpoints, furniture, interface, spatial layouts, visualisations and graphic
articulations;
+ Collaborate with project teams through all phases of design process including alignment with
client, understanding context, developing insights, exploring and defining opportunities,
setting strategy, creating actionable/tangible design expressions, communicating vision, and
guiding go-to-market strategies;
+ Research and synthesise data, best practices and innovative solutions and extract insights to
inform design decisions;
+ Elicit requirements through a range of activities from planning and leading
stakeholder interviews, working from problem statements, articulating business
objectives and asking the right questions in the right ways to inform design thinking
processes;
+ Produce prototypes, sketches, and detailed schematics through cycles of rapid iteration to
prototype experiences across mediums and realise a final solution;
+ Present solutions with precision and personality to variety of business stakeholders, clients
and internal colleagues;
+ Execute on the strategy and direction through a masterful mix of visual and verbal
communication;
+ Craft exceptional stories that connect the dots of user needs, concepts, design principles and
experience details, both within the team and out to clients;
+ Plan and help facilitate workshops to support creative collaboration and evangelise customer
centricity with clients and colleagues;
+ Actively participate in the development of the clients culture and brand, including looking for
opportunities to create in-house projects and external collaborations that further our practice
as a cutting edge design studio.
+ Engage in the development of recruitment and professional development practices in support
of the development of your colleagues.
REQUIREMENTS
+ A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience envisioning and designing stand-out experiences.
+ Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with design thinking and user centric design
approaches, as well as the ability to apply them flexibly across a variety of project types and
business categories.
+ Highly experienced in quick prototyping, sketching, quick rendering and facilitation of
workshops. Digitally savvy and experienced with design and prototyping software such as
Adobe, Figma, Sketch, etc But you also love lego and cardboard.
+ Proven record of leading projects from scratch to amazing results.
+ Exceptional visual, verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English with a strong
command of the language at professional level.
+ Curious and passionate, with an ability to observe and bringing a strong point of view to any
project you work on.
+ You embrace learning, staying up to date with the latest & best practice in your field
+ You enjoy working with cross collaborative teams: Creative, Strategy & Technology.
+ You’re passionate, ambitious and have a drive for excellence.
